Small Groups Overview

Welcome        Overview       What is a host?         Resources

Small Groups is an integral part of ministry because it helps bring God's presence in the life of His people in a personalized and unique way.  We desire to grow deeper as Mililani Fil-Am grows broader.  Here are some ideas of what small groups are all about.

Small Groups Strategy.  Through Small Groups Ministries, Mililani Fil-Am church will grow richer in their relationship with God beyond the typical route of Sunday Church and ministries.  It is designed primarily as an arm of discipleship through caring and praying for needs, but it is a place of evangelism and entry points for non-members of the church to participate in.   The small group decides different arrangements necessary to achieve the goal of small group ministries.

Small Groups Structure.  The typical setting is a group of 4-5 people led by a host.  They commit to meeting at least one hour every week sharing, praying, and caring for each other through via any means.

Small-Group Tenure.  The small group can last through the length of a curriculum, or a quarter, a semester, or annually.  This is decided by the group and preferably before the group starts and can be changed as the needs change.

Small Groups Host.  A small group host is a member of a Mililani Fil-am Baptist Church who has the desire and had gone through "hosting small group" training.  This individual is directly responsible for the church.

Small Groups Attender. An attendee is one who is willing to fulfill the arrangement of the group, member, or non-member of Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church.

Small Groups Resources.  Even if the primary design of a small group is to care and pray for others, small groups are encouraged to have resources to accompany their weekly meetings.
